Why Prayer?

We cry out to Jesus because he alone knows the real problems and He knows the best solutions. He promises that if we will ask Him, He will give us the solutions. He says, "Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know." Jer 33:3.  He knows what each person needs, He knows what spiritual strongholds need to be broken. But He wants us to call on Him, to seek His face, His Kingdom.

Our example.

When Jesus walked the earth He gave his disciples an example prayer.

Regardless if it is viewed as a model or the actual prayer, the words He spoke were “Your kingdom come, on earth just as it is in heaven…and forgive us our trespasses/sins, just as we have forgiven those that have trespassed/sinned against us…

HOW TO PRAY

There are many aspects to prayer.

One basic aspect is us asking God to make this place, our city, look like heaven. It is also us declaring to Him that we forgive people that have hurt us and asking Him to forgive us the same way we have forgiven them.

There is a lot of hurt in this city. We need help. Our leaders need help. The first step to healing is admitting the problem. Learn how to pray.
